Stop me if you've heard this one. Two lovers walk into a bar. Its a dark, dingy place that smells of alcohol even though it is only two o'clock in the afternoon. The stage that was occupied by a singer-songwriter last night, now sits empty and barren. The two lovers don't drink. They have come for the food. No? Keep going? Alright. The food isn't your typical bar food. Its healthy and fresh and locally purchased from other small businesses when possible. There is no frying in the kitchen. Instead of burgers and onion rings, you'll find the menu covered with African Peanut Soup, Thai Noodles, Mexican Gumbo and a Mediterranean Plate. This is the story of Stage Left. Stage Left is a relatively new bar located in the Lutz area. It is the brainchild of husband and wife duo Brian and Isabelle Dunleavy. The couple modeled Stage Left after the way Isabelle cooks at home, fresh ingredients with lots of vegan and vegetarian options. After being seated, the waiter gave us some time to look over the menu. We were buried pages deep when he returned and told us about their new guacamole. It was so new that it wasn't even on the menu yet. That sounded good to us, so we put in an order. The guacamole had a nice lime and garlic flavor. I was absolutely ecstatic that they didn't ruin it by putting that terrible, no good, downright rotten, cilantro in it (and if they did, they masked it well). I felt like the ratio of chips to dip was great. I ran out of both of them at the same time (and this wasn't me skimping on the guac either, I was really digging in). I followed the guac with a bowl of African Peanut Soup. The soup is both gluten free and vegan. It consists of sweet potatoes, ginger, peanuts and fresh veggies. With that combination, it should come as no surprise that the soup was sweet. I was fine with the sweetness but others have had a problem. Just take note, if you aren't into sweet soups, steer clear. Next we shared a Mediterranean Plate. The plate includes flatbread, carrots, cucumbers, tapenade and hummus. I was a big fan of the tapenade, all chunky and easy to handle. I liked the flavor of the hummus, a grand little flair, though I prefer mine to be a bit creamier in consistency. J-Fur's ordered the Farmhouse Melt sandwich. It contains mozzarella, tomatoes and basil on pressed Farmhouse Bread. The sandwich certainly looked good. The bread was pressed and crispy and provided a fabulous contrast to the gooey cheese and tomato interior. Based on the ingredients, J-Fur expected a memorable sandwich. By her estimation the Farmhouse Melt was good but not memorable. She craved an exotic pesto to elevate it deity level. There is a lot to like at Stage Left. They've got drinking and live music. On top of that, they have a unique menu that offers a lot of quality food that tastes fresh and homemade. The bar has options y'all. Especially for people with extreme diets as their menu has a number of gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. Will I be back? You bet ya.

Latin night is great. Live music is great. Decor is great. Menu needs a little somethin somethin though. Look at a place like Edison food & drink lab for some inspiration. Btw....I put four stars as an encouragement. It's more like 3.5, but with a little work, you guys can really make this a great place. You have a lot of local support. We REALLY want this place to succeed and give us dining and entertainment options in a town full of chain restaurants!!

Great place! I attended their very first Latin Night on Thursday, May 28. I had not heard of this place, even though they've been there for 6 months and it's very close to my mom's house. They had a well-known live Salsa band, Sol Caribe, which started at 9:00. Salsa lessons were from 7-8 pm and a DJ played latin music between 8 and 9. Great atmosphere! The location is perfect for those of us who live in Central Pasco and don't want to drive to Tampa to dance. It's now in our very own back yard! Woo Hoo! The place is cozy, but not so small that you feel claustrophobic. They have an ample dance floor, even with the place packed. Plus, you can dance in the second room as well (next to some of the tables - there's enough space for a few couples). We did not eat there, since we weren't sure what to expect, but we drank beers and wine. Nice selection of both. Our server, Jason, was very attentive. He was nice even though we really didn't spend all that much. When we first arrived, the person who greeted us at the door was very friendly and informative. I think he was the owner. Our entire party had not arrived and I wanted to slide two tables together. He told us we could do so once everyone was there. The rest of my party showed up pretty quickly so there were no problems with securing the extra table and then joining them. We were told that their intent is to have Latin Night every other Thursday. I will definitely be back and next time I'll eat dinner there to check out some of the other Yelpers' suggestions. I'll bring along my Anglo hubby and check out the other live music as well!

Great atmosphere love the different bands. The food is great and the staff is very friendly. We love going to stage left.

At first I thought this was a great place. However we went tonight with 5 people and after paying (and tipping) realized the waitress had added her own 20% tip. I've been a waitress and cocktail waitress and have NEVER added my own tips. Very disappointed and I feel like it's so shady to do that and not mention it. Check your bills before paying!

Interesting menu, sort of lacking some mainstream things. They are trying a little too hard to be vegetarian and gluten free. Place was clean, staff was friendly and they did good with special requests. The price seemed sort of high. We had 4 drinks for $38.00 and then the rest of the food brought it to $90. The skewers were sort of lacking, and I was excited about those from previewing the menu online. We will go back for drinks and entertainment, not sure we'll plan dinner there. My suggestion to the owner would be to keep the menu but add some generic tapas that appeal to everyone, and maybe always have a burger special. I like a lot about the place but can't go 4 starts. More like 3.5

Tasty and well-prepared food, a really cool atmosphere and a caring staff. We'll be back!

Have been a few times since they have opened and it's been very inconsistent. Service was always good but the food is hit or miss. The beer prices are pretty high for what they offer and the bar seats I found very uncomfortable. Nice neighborhood feel and rather support independent restaurants or chains. The menu reads great but flavor haven't lived up to what you would expect. Will definitely be back for at least a drink and live music.

Awesome bar. Lots of fun with live music. The first time there my gf and I spilt some very tasty 420 wings! They where so good. The next time we went there we each got our own plate of 420 wings. The wings where so dry and burnt black, charred! I don't know what went wrong from the week before. The waiter on the second visit was so bad. While in mid conversation he walked away to the next table, then came bad. Don't let my negative review keep you from going here. I had fun both times with great bands.
(4)Jade T.
My experience at Stage Left was great. My waiter Jason was absolutely amazing. Always smiling and and super friendly. I enjoy having him as my waiter. I've been there serval times and request him everytime. Stage left is the place to be. Great music and drinks.
(5)Nick S.
Live music. Relaxed, fun, indie vibe. Gastropub food offerings. What's not to like? Kitchen is open late. Full bar. Lutz \ Land O Lakes \ Wesley Chapel is finally getting some hipster cred. Isabella, one of the owners, said they usually have bands that people dance to Saturday nights. Check their website or Facebook for schedule. They have a second bar area they open up on busy days and nights or for private parties. The menu is terrific with all kinds of fun dishes to try and reasonable prices. Soup's on!!! Tapas, sandwiches, flatbreads and entrees including steak and skewers too. Menu includes gluten free and vegetarian offerings.
(5)Jessica B.
I was reading the other reviews and I have to stop and think.. What exactly are people bitching about... Your waiter was probably busy serving all the happy customers!! My husband and I went there tonight (Saturday night) and we if a BLAST! Danced and sang and enjoyed the band.. Drinks where great!! Let me say... I had NO makeup on and my husband was in his work clothes and we felt comfortable and free!! You want a sit down dinner we a live music venue might not be the place.. You wants come and dance and have a good time well this is where you want to be!! Thank you for having a great spot in Land O Lakes!!
(5)Jerel T.
We arrived and after a couple of drinks, the waiter came over and smiled and said, "We are out of chicken, beef, and pork." We thought he was kidding. Apparently he wasn't. The manager didn't come over and apologize, no offer for a comped drink, nothing. We left and went elsewhere and had a real dinner.
(1)Ben R.
Go here! Lunch - dinner - late night....you have got to check this place out. I started visiting for the Bar, but I think Im going back for the kitchen. The 420 wings and the nachos were phenominal! The drink specials are good and all pours are worth your $. The music is also a nice change from the juke box bar or the DJ club. See you there!
(5)Rachel M.
Wow, this place is way bigger on the inside then the outside. The inside is nice, open, clean, and comfy. No smoke smell THANK YOU! We came in the evening around 7 pm, and sat in the room to the left. I liked it here. It wasn't too loud either. Hate going to restaurants where you can't hold a convesation. We ordered a bunch of stuff - pulled pork nachos, crab cake sliders, chicken sliders, steak chimmichurri, bruschetta, shrimp cocktail, & some drinks. All wonderful! Our waitress Tina was a sweetheart. Nick loved her Xena resemblence. Our room was so homey, and we be friended the two other groups in the room. Why and how bc of SELFIE STICK!!! Fun times, and I'm ready to bring more friends, go to Salsa Thursdays, or listen to another band on a Saturday night.

Great indoor club. The first sentence describes all. I enjoy our time there with three other friends. It was not mean for the father day's celebration, but I did it anyway without kid. During the same night, We saw the next table have the engagement party over 15 people. They are crazy enough to celebrate together in surprise. The story started with a selfie stick of that day. After we have some of the food, we decided to give the picture with the band. Fortunately I have brought one selfie stick that night. We have taken some selfie with band and the waitress. While we have selfie, our neighbor table customer came and has the video bomb. There where everything begin. We start going to their table with our selfie stick and take the picture of the engagement party. It's how the people there are very nice and party. Tonight we have the shrimp cocktail, chipotle BBQ wing, pull pork nacho, peanut soup, chicken and crab cake nacho, slice skirt steak. The only thing I not a fan is the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp must have sit in the refrigerator for some time. Freshness is not there. Tonight the band for the Amanda Drake and the barnburners provide a great country with blue vibe music entertain the crowd. Barnburners - I wonder how many barn they have burn. The music is mixed to current popular song. We enjoy it. Service is great. We have Xena the princess warrior serving us. We will be back to have fun since they have the indoor vibe. I would suggest come at 7pm enjoy two hour peaceful meal then enjoy the blasting music for another two hours.

we checked out this new place last night. The atmosphere was interesting. it had that old factory type of feel with brick walls. There is a stage for live music. We were there at 5:30 and the music didnt start until 8. The service was very good. I had this african soup that was flavored with sweet pototoe and peanuts and it was very very good. For dinner i had thai noodles that were fantastic. It seems like there were gluten free and vegetarian choices (I'm neither) on the menu. My only criticism is that there was no beer on tap but they did have a good selection of bottled and canned beer. I will go back.
(5)Nick M.
It's a strip mall bar in pasco county that likes to act like its part of tampa when it's nothing more than just a strip mall bar in pasco county. Just the location is worth bumping two stars off the top.
(2)Holly Y.
A new foodie spot with charming and hospitable owners who know how to please. Locally sourced produce, reasonably priced menu and live music. You need to check it out!
(5)Eliza R.
Great location, amazing service, yummy menu and awesome entertainment. So happy to have someplace new to go in this area!
(4)Christopher S.
Stage Left bring the live music, bar and food that Wesley Chapel and Lutz have desired. Live music from Phoenix Tampa Bay coupled with the best nachos this side of the border and a bar staff capable of keeping up with the demand. Awesome place for the area.
(5)Ashley W.
Highly disappointed. I ordered the Farmhouse Melt in hopes it was a healthier option on Gluten Free Bread. I asked for no butter or oil. After waiting 25 minutes when it was suppose to be ready in 10 minutes. I took it back to the office next door to find the bread was shredded, and soggy. There was a sliver of tomato when its suppose to be a Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil Melt. There was so much Mozzarella that it overtook the sandwich. The basil pieces were few and far between. Either from a herb shaker or cut so small you can't really see them. I added Grilled Chicken that ended up being dry and hard. So hard that the tooth pick stuck through the sandwich broke off when trying to pull it out. I had high hopes for the restaurant since its so close. The inside looks neat but if I return, it will be for a few beers and I'll skip the food.
(1)Christopher R.
Recently opened. Nice atmosphere and vibe. The menu is a decent size but doesn't cater well to the crowd coming to see live music. It's nice to see healthy food in the menu but people want greasy food when drinking. It doesn't have to be all bad, wings and a good burger on a menu would be great. The beer selection is ok. The liquor selection needs major improvement. This place could be really nice if they go for it. Good luck.

Went last night with a group of 12 for dinner and drinks and to see the bank. There was a reservation made several weeks ahead of time and another group, 20 people, that was going to be there the same night in the side room. Which was great, but the owner also reserved the room for a third group. This made it 50 some people and not enough seating. We were able to get the first round of drinks and a small plate of chips and salsa, before the waiter told us the kitchen was closed (they were overwhelmed, too many orders!) , there wouldn't be any more orders for food accepted. This was at 7:30, when we asked if we could get more chips we were told it was a $6 up-charge. Needless to say we paid the bill and went to another restaurant for dinner. They will have to do a lot of improvement, on the menu and the kitchen to get me to consider trying again.
(1)Elizabeth K.
Fun night out at Stage Left! Great relaxed atmosphere. Awesome food and great service! We both had the chicken and corn soup ( spicy!!) and yum! Then on to the wonderful, flavor filled fish tacos. Very fresh with nice hints of ginger. We will definitely be back for the live nightly music!
(5)Mara D.
Skip the sandwiches. I can't speak on the other menu items but the sandwiches are tiny for the price. I think they used the small publix bread and most were over $10. Just came with bagged chips. They need to cut the prices in half or get bigger bread and I would have no complaint on the sandwiches We were not greeted when walking in. A manager looking dude was sitting at the bar uninterested in his new customers. To me that was most insulting. I understand this place is a night spot first and for most however they are open for lunch so I believe should be more accommodating to children and by that all I mean is having a high chair or 2. Overall not impressed and will most likely not be giving it a second chance.
(1)Chris H.
Nice looking place, went in for happy hour. Beer selection was okay, but pricey. Liquor selection just okay. Chicken and corn soup was really good, nice and spicy, tasty broth. BBQ chicken flatbread was not good. Bland chunks of chicken on a soft/floppy flatbread. Service was friendly enough. Food menu and quality lacking, prices a bit too high. I'll give it another shot sometime to catch a later crowd and some music, maybe they're still working things out.

My husband and I were looking for a good place to stop to eat on our way home. We came across this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We walked in and didn't see a greater or anything but just decided to pick a seat and sat down. There was live music playing, which usually I would not be there on account of hating live music, but it was actually pretty good. My husband ordered a bottle beer (they only have bottles and cans, no taps, but they also have a full bar) and I just ordered a glass of tap water. We both had entrees, I had the Caribbean stir fry and my husband got the Thai noodles. They were both surprisingly good. The chicken was moist and juicy and the flavors were great. All in all we were very surprised. We will definitely be back. If you're looking for a nice relaxed place with good food and live music give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
(4)Todd G.
Came here with some friends for happy hour and music afterwards. I didn't make it to the music, so I can't comment on that. The happy hour itself was uninspiring, just one dollar off drinks, not real happy and it clearly didn't impress many as only 2 other people were there at 6pm. Took a look at the menu and just decided to leave. They have heathy choices but nothing that goes with alcohol really. Add a burger to the menu at least and how about some happy hour food specials, like everywhere else. 2 stars for ambiance and having live music. Hopefully they put together a real happy hour someday so that the after work crowd will go. Check out Primebar down the road as to what a happy hour really should be.

Fun place to go with a group in Land O Lakes to hear local, live music-there is only one other option. The main room can get crowded early and there is no view of the dance floor or stage from the second bar area-two of the three times I have gone I've been left of the stage, behind a wall. The beer selection is limited and expensive for the area (cans and bottles only-I've been a few times and went with blue moon). I found it odd the menu featured locally sourced food but the bar had no local beer or wine. Tried the food on the first visit...ordered several flat breads. All uninspired, dull and very over-priced. Eat before you go. Staff has always been friendly.
(2)Emily R.
Got here early-ish on a Saturday evening and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Made it in time to snag good deals on very decent doubles. There was a live band, and the crowd grew quickly. Loved the atmosphere - lots of wood, mason jars and Edison lights. Land O Lakes soooo needed this place. Agree with everyone else in that the food quality was not in proportion with price... so hit the happy hour and go have dinner elsewhere.
(4)John D.
Cool bar. Laid back. Nice beer selection. No drafts. Good music. Attentive staff. Owner came by and said "hi". Haven't tried the food but looks promising. Will be back!
(5)Stacey R.
Girls Night out! Eight girls and I spent the evening at Stage Left. The service was attentive and fun (James,) food was delicious, drinks great and music entertaining. The owners were present and very interested in all that was going on. They were fun and engaged with the patrons. A a great night out. Looking forward to going there again soon!
(4)Adriana C.
Went last time for the first time. The bar staff was attentive and kind. Some a-hole spilled his drink on me and didn't have the courtesy to buy me another drink. The blonde bartender saw this and gave me another drink. Also there was an incident with a drunk girl who we unfortunately we were sitting next to, which they handled swiftly. Based on the crowd this doesn't seem to happen often. This is a great little spot in WC and would definitely return. The music was ok, the but energy was good.
(4)Rhonda H.
Don't go to this establishment. Insulting and horrible management. I thought I was going to love this local place, however I was proved wrong.
(1)Isabeau B.
There is a lot to say about this place. My husband and I live close and have been super excited about Tampa becoming more foodie friendly. With that being said Stage Left is an interesting concept, with poor execution. When we arrived it was about 630 and the dining room was pretty empty. We were greeted and seated quickly, which I think everyone would appreciate. The waitress was....strange. Maybe she was new, or she just didn't know where the appropriate line was. We started with water and drinks. If you're looking for a good cocktail bar or great beers then please go else where. Perhaps Mr.Dunderbaks or The Brass Tap. I went the safe route or so I thought and ordered a guinness and my husband ordered a side car. The bartenders didn't know what a side car was and because they don't have room for kegs my guinness came in a can (not a big deal as the can has a widget);however, a full bodied beer like guinness didn't compliment the food at all. We also ordered dirty martinis that were so dreadfully far from dirty I had to order extra olive brine. But on to the food. We were hesitant as we've seen so many bad reviews for flavor, but the food was decent. If you're going to go here go the tapas route as I do agree they're over priced. The fish tacos were delicious and the Thai noodles didn't disappoint. If you do order the Thai noodles keep in mind that they are served cold. Which was a surprise to me as I was anticipating warm food. None the less the flavor was nice, a tad spicy, and had a very fresh mouth feel. We enjoyed it with the tacos, I felt they complemented each other well. The crab cakes weren't superb but they weren't the worst I've had either. Overall it wasn't a huge let down. It may not have been the best $92.25 we've ever spent. If you're looking for a breath taking dinner experience you're looking for Rooster & The Till. If you want to be in and out for a quick bite this place is worth swinging by.
(3)Kimmy M.
The food is disgusting. That is fact. Do not recommend . The glowing reviews on here must be by friends of the owners. Try it out for yourself, guarantee you will think my assessment of this place is more honest and accurate.
(1)Matthew L.
My wife and I met some friends at Stage Left a few weeks ago. We all shared small plates and sandwiches, and everything was really good. The crab cakes were amazing! One of the owners, Brian, introduced himself and thanked us for coming, which was nice. Our server seemed a little green, but she did a fine job overall. Fun atmosphere with live music, cool fresh/local food menu, and good craft beer selection. It's great to have a place like this in the Land O Lakes/Wesley Chapel area.
(5)Rafael S.
This is a new place in Lutz/Wesley Chapel area. Is a very nice concept that mixes a bar/restaurant and live music venue in a warmth environment. The place is simply decorated but with good taste. The restaurant/food offering is limited but plates are well done. They offer craft beers and wines along with usual cocktails. Will visit again for sure.
(4)Carrie D.
Great service! Manager/owner was also very attentive and greeted everyone that came in. Nice atmosphere with live music and a good beer selection. Finally a good option for dinner in land o'lakes! We'll definitely be back.
(5)Lawrence I.
Went here for dinner on a random thursday. Food was actually surprisingly good and they had a good alcohol selection. Live music was good as well. Only downside is that they don't have beer on tap.
(4)Cristen M.
Awesome food, awesome service, and awesome band! Went there for dinner and some live music on a Saturday night. The entire experience was great! The food is very modern and upscale. I had African Peanut soup and the crab cake salad. Both were fantastic!!! We will definitely be back!!!
